Phenomena relating to epistemic structures and social inequalities in physical spaces is a severely ill-researched area, which has some of the lowest diversity rates out of all scientific fields. I undertook this interdisciplinary project at the University of Toronto in an effort to make sense of these issues and what makes them so specific to the field of physics.
I have developed a report with my findings as well as a proposal for future research to be continued in this field. This project was a huge undertaking and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to have been invited to the Perimeter Institute to present my work at the annual OAPT conference. I hope to shed more light on the issues presented in my paper, which can also be accessed here.
